Monthly Fishing Contest Rules
May 15th through September 12th
Participation requires purchase of current year button. Buttons may be purchased at participating Lake Gogebic Chamber businesses for $5.00 each.
A $30.00 Chamber Bucks will be awarded monthly to the largest fish in each of the following categories: Walleye, Perch, Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike. Winners determined by length. Gift certificates may be redeemed at any Lake Gogebic Chamber of Commerce Business. For a complete list of Chamber businesses – please visit: www.lakegogebicarea.com
Monthly periods:
1. May 15th – June 14th
2. June 15th – July 14th
3. July 15th – August 14th
4. August 15th – September 12th.
Rules:
1. You must have a valid Michigan fishing license. Not required for anyone for Michigan’s “Free Fishing Weekends.”
2. You must purchase the button PRIOR to catching the fish.
3. Fish must be legally caught by hook and line during the open season for that species on Lake Gogebic.
4. All fish must be brought in live to the Hoop, The Timbers Resort, West Shore Resort, Gogebic Grocery or Bears Nine Pines.
5. The Fishing Committee reserves the right to investigate or contest any fish turned in for contention.
6. STATE OF MICHIGAN LAWS AND FISHING REGULATIONS WILL APPLY.
7. OUT OF BOUNDS AREA: Beyond Slate and Merriweather bridges and the Bergland Bay outlet.
